WWE NXT EPISODE 3: 03.09.10

We got three okay matches. David Otunga looked pretty good in his tag. They didn't follow up on the brawl last week, they just had the announcers say everything okay. Daniel Bryan look pretty cool, kicking the piss out of Otunga and not being responsible for the loss.

Heath Slater SHOCKED THE WORLD by rolling up Carlito for a win. Michael Tarver showed up at ringside....and....that's it for him. Darren Young got a backstage bit with Punk where he was given the choice between the uncertain success of his life style, and Punk's Strait Edge Life Style, which will
make him a winner. So....that's it for him. Justin Gabriel was boring me until Michael Cole informed me that his father was THE PINK PANTHER.Wade Barrett has some good beat down moves...

Oh yeah, AND NO SKIP SHEFFIELD. Thankfully Daniel Bryan brought enough Manliness to fill the void.

THE PROS: Carlito looked okay in his match, giving Heath a lot to work with. Both The Miz and R-truth looked a little sloppy, but I thought they still performed really well. The rest of the Pros were pretty non-existent. Except Matt Hardy who talked back stage and sounded worse than anyone. ANYONE else. As a matter of fact, the rookies are really carrying this show in a lot of ways, which has to be a good sign for them, as the show is still pretty good. No matter how hard Michael Cole tries to mess it up.

1. Justin Gabriel (-)
2. Heath Slater (+ 3)
3. David Otunga (+ 4)
4. Daniel Bryan(- 1)
5. Wade Barrett (- 3)
6. Darren Young (- 2)
7. Skip Sheffield (- 1)
8. Michael Tarver (-)
Explained: Gabriel is on a streak. Beat a Pro and Beat a rookie and two weeks in a row in the Main Event. Heath Slater actually avenged his disgrace last weak by cleanly pinning Carlito in a singles match which would make that a first ever. David Otunga followed Gabriel's performance last week by pinning the Miz, but it didn't feel nearly as big a deal considering he might have tapped, and TheMiz/Bryan breakdown allowed a big opening. Wade Barrett takes the worst tumble, losing to Justin Gabriel after beating his ass for a while. Darren Young doesn't really drop so much as other people passed him up. The same for Skip Sheffield. And...Michael Tarver said some funny stuff at ring side. But not funnier than my memories of Skip Sheffield.

WWE NXT: Episode 2 03.03.2010

So Skip Sheffield was tremendous but we'll get to that in a second. Nothing to controversial tonight, like last weeks reveal of how WWE was going to book Daniel Bryan. This week was a pretty standard show in a classic sense. the big addition is the rules. Or a rule. I think they're coming up with them weekly. So the Pros will vote on each Rookie, Pass or Fail. The only exception is a Pro will not be allowed to vote on his rookie. That way you get seven votes and you either pass or fail. The passes move on, I guess, and the

We had three matches, with the first being a longer rematch of last weeks squash, Darren Young vs. David Otunga. They decided to switch things up and have Otunga work face. At least I think they did, because the fans booed Darren pretty hard. They may have just thought he sucked. He wasn't bad, but he was a little clunky looking and his finish is garbage. And he got to utilize it after Punk interference, which was a surprise. Otunga's brewing beef with Truth looks like it'll bring a lot of good out of both guys. I'd never really seen R-Truth so serious since coming back to the WWE.

We also had Wade Barrett look pretty damn
nice against a very weak Daniel Bryan, taped ribs and all. I hope they give him the DDP treatment and his ribs are all broken up all the time yet he some how manages to win with flash subs instead of a Diamond Cutter. but even witha loss Bryan stayed memorable with a great knee off the apron that the camera guy kind of failed on. Jericho was great on commentary likening Wade to an eagle. Hey...look over there, it's an Eagle fighting a Dragon.

Skip Sheffield, is great and totally likable. They even protected him by having Regal eat the pin from a great 450 Splash by Justin Gabriel. And hey, Justin Gabriel pins Regal in his WWE debut. Pretty nice. I wasn't in to him so much but that one move looked pretty good.

The Others:

Heath Slater
was working out with Christian, and was later spit on by Carlito. So while he didn't do much, the ending was a tease on how he'll react to that next week. Michael Tarver got no screen time other than a recap of his mis-communication with Carlito. Bummer

1. Justin Gabriel (+5)
2. Wade Barrett (+4)
3. Daniel Bryan(-2)
4. Darren Young (+3)
5. Heath Slater ( -2)
6. Skip Sheffield (+ 2)
7. David Otunga (- 4)
8. Michael Tarver (- 4)
Wade Barrett got a big win and had a good intro video that he didn't get last week. Gabriel was hyped from last week and pinned a veteran which I don't think has even happened yet. Daniel Bryan is being protected with hurt ribs and it creates more sympathy for his character than just about any one else's. But he'll keep dropping if he keeps losing. Darren Young dominated Otunga all match and then still beat him. Otunga, regardless of Punk's interference, was out matched nearly the whole time. Skip Sheffield's team lost but to no fault of his own, and I'll be damned if he topped Otunga's hype video from last week. And Michael Tarver was a loser last week. And they reminded you about it. And that was that.

By the way, that drawing of an Eagle vs. a Dragon is badass and I'm so glad some on drew it. Check out the artists other stuff here. I don't know him but, he drew an eagle fighting a dragon, so I feel like I kind of do now.

It's March and people are getting crazy. Over at the Death Valley Driver Message Boards a tournament has been created. 64 wrestlers from WWE, TNA, and DGUSA have been randomly put against one another. Who wins? The members of DVDVR decide via a little thing called Democrazy.

I actually meant to type "Democracy"but I hit the "z" instead. I was going to change but, realized... IT'S MARCH MADNESS, BABY!

Every day 4 Matches will be posted. After 24 hrs the voting is closed and the guy with the most votes moves on.

What's that? Want to see who your favorite wrestler is matched up against? Want to prepare your argument for why Matt Hardy is better than Christian ahead of time? You want...a bracket? YOU GOT IT:

Make predictions there, or leave comments here. I love comments. Shit comment about it at DVDVR, because that's where it is going down.
