THE NEW GENERATION ERA PROJECT: SUPERSTARS REVIEW 06:26:1993

MR. HUGHES vs. EL MATADOR TITO SANTANA
I love that Hughes has pretty much replaced Giant Gonzalez as the guy who's beating up the Undertaker. It's the right move, as Gonzalez is really hard to watch. Both guys competitors brought the goods here. Hughes can really get off his feet. He FLIES into Tito's arm drags. Tito is solid as usual, taking a beating and keeping the crowd hot. The highlight has to be Hughes crotching himself on the ropes. The way he sells it is to die for. One of the greatest nut shot sells I've ever seen.

THIS TAG TITLE SITUATION IS DUMB
Monsoon tells us that the Steiners have won back the tag titles. That's right, they won the tag titles twice in one week. This has been handled poorly.

CREE PEE
DOINK THE CLOWN vs. SCOTT DANE
YES. Doink kills this guy. He throws a great over the head belly to belly suplex, and finishes off Scott with the stump puller.  But the weirdest shit is that before the match Doink does this hand wave to the camera. First the left, then the right. Then he grabs his head in surprise, laughs and turns on the evil face. It's creepy. But it gets worse. After the match, when Doink is walking back down the aisle, they replay Doink's mime act on the video wall. So Doink start's mimicking what he just did earlier. Then he turns around and busts out laughing while the camera zooms in so that we get essentially a split shot of the two sides of Doink.

It's kind of genius if you ever see it.

THE HEADSHRINKERS vs. MIKE DAVIS & BUDDY LANE
It's always fun to watch the Headshrinkers beat up jabronies, but they seem a little bored here. Nothing really of note, other than Vince hyping up the tag division and all the possible teams that could challenge The Steiners. It made me laugh considering the way tag teams are booked now.

BASTION BOOGER vs. VIRGIL
I'm just going to use quotes from commentary during this match to explain it to you.

MACHO MAN: Virgil seems confused on what to do right now.
VINCE: This is an awful looking sight, isn't it?
VINCE: I mean, look at Booger.
VINCE: What's this now?
VINCE: Oh no.
VINCE: I've not seen anything like that.
VINCE: As far as I'm concerned Bastion Booger is the quintessential endomorph.
This happened.

BAM BAM BIGELOW HAS SENSITIVITY
Bammer comes out and tells everyone that people thinks he's such a bad guy, but there's another side to Bam Bam Bigelow. A sensitive side. In short, Bam Bam Bigelow is in love. Then he introduces his love, Luna Vachon. Luna compares tells Arnold Schwarzenneger to eat his heart out and for Mel Gibson to get out of the way. I love this pairing. It's so perfect.

MR. PERFECT vs. BERT CENTENO
I don't see how you follow up Virgil/Bastion Booger, but Perfect gives it a shot. He fits in a few of his spots and looked more worked up than usual. Still it's nothing you haven't seen before.

HOW DO YOU END A SHOW LIKE THIS
Oh, I know. With THIS

OVERALL SHOW THOUGHTS
Tito/Hughes was good. Doink scared me. Luna hooked up with Bam Bam Bigelow. And Virgil put his head on Bastion Booger's genitals. To top it off, Hacksaw Jim Duggan The Remix capped it off. This is absolutely the reason why I started this project.
