THE WWF NEW GENERATION ERA PROJECT: SUPERSTARS REVIEW 7/31/1993

MEN ON A MISSION vs. BROOKLYN BRAWLER & BRIAN COSTELLO
Mo was not too shabby, rocking some armdrags and getting the crowd hyped. Mabel finished things off with his wheel kick that perfectly nailed Costellow in the face. Vince was ridiculous trying to sound hip with stuff like "Mabel is so big he's...DA WHOLE HOOD!"

Lawler likens Mabel to a certain whale from Seaworld
ADAM BOMB vs. TONY DEVITO
Total destruction. Adam Bomb has a weird power bomb. He gets them up over his right shoulder and just lets them slip off the side as he comes to his knee. It looks like the total distance the victim is falling is really small.

MR. HUGHES vs. JASON HEADINGS
I don't think I've seen Headings before. He bumped pretty well for Hughes, and made his sidewalk slam/chokelsam move look extra impressive. Once again the Undertaker has someone bring out a wreath and Hughes rips it apart. This has happened six billion times. I'm ready for these two to mix it up already.

After the match we get a clip from Wrestle Challenge where Jerry Lawler interviews The Undertaker. Taker takes the mic and basically says "If you bring me the urn now I'll bring you to your demise quickly. Otherwise it's going to be a long and agonizing death."

Because he literally kills people.

THE HEADSHRINKERS vs. DAVE THORNBERG & BRET TYLER
This was great. Headshinkers murder Tyler with a double clothesline that knocks him out. They act confused, trying to wake him up. Then they roll him to the corner and lift his hand so he can tag in the other jabronie so they can wrestle more. After beating on Thornberg they knock him out with a sick power bomb. They look confused again, and with no other option they start fighting each other. Afa tells them to cool it and just finish the match. Fatu ends it with a big splash off the top rope. GREATNESS.

MR. PERFECT vs. GLEN RUTH
Nothing says, "America" like making your pecs ripple with Regis.
Perfect spit his gum out of his mouth and slapped it into the crowd. Some guy caught it and was celebrating like he was Wrigley and caught a home run. Perfect hasn't been up to much since his King of the Ring match, but he looks ready to rock here. At one point he was going to roll Ruth back into the ring and then got the bright idea to throw the guy into the steps. The crowd was hot for it too. It felt like this organic moment that he did specifically to get them going and they knew it. I can't explain it, but him and the crowd were on the same wave length during this one.

SHERRI vs. LUNA VACHON
Bigelow comes down and starts intimidating Sherri on the mic. Sherri ain't scared of nothing and slaps the Beast from the East in the face. Bigelow doesn't like that and backs Sherri into the corner. Luna sneaks behind her and chokes her from the apron. TATANKA saves the day and clears the house with some tomahawk chops. This storyline seems to have taken FOREVER. Bigelow and Tatanka have been sort of feuding  since February I think.

OVERALL SHOW: Nothing to write home about other than two really fun squashes. It's kind of a let down after the last two weeks of Steiners/Money Inc. matches. But there is a lot of story progression going on with feuds between Lawler/Hart, Undertaker/Hughes, Yokozuna/Luger and now Tatanka/Bigelow being apart of the show.
